After graduating from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology in 2012 Matthew went on to obtain a Juris Doctor from the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba in 2018. Mathew was then called to the Manitoba Bar in 2021.

While in law school, Matthew volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC) and co-chaired The Outlaws (Robson Hall’s LGBTQ+ student group) and it was during that time Matthew realized his passion about helping others and the access to justice, and justice for marginalized groups.

During his final year of law school, he was awarded the D.A. Thompson Course Award for his essay in Aboriginal People and the Law.

Matthew currently serves on the Manitoba Bar Association’s (MBA) Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee (SOGIC) as section executive.

When not in the office, you can find Matthew tackling DIY projects around the house, playing electric guitar, scuba diving, playing recreational hockey and touring Manitoba from the comfort of his sports bike.
