MATTHEW B. BLUNT

Associate  |  He/Him  |  Brandon and Neepawa |  Outdoorsman

Matthew received his Juris Doctor degree from the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2017 and began his career at Patersons LLP the same year, first as an articling student, and then as an associate following his call to the bar. While Matthew has a particular interest in corporate and commercial matters, he maintains a diverse solicitor’s practice and serves clients in real estate transactions and estate and succession planning.

During law school, Matthew interned with the WMU – Cooley Innocence Project, providing legal assistance to wrongfully convicted inmates. In this capacity, he was able to secure DNA testing that excluded one of his clients and set the stage for a new trial. Most recently, his article, “Highway to a Headache: Is Tort-Based Automotive Insurance on a Collision Course With Autonomous Vehicles?”, was published in the Willamette Law Review.

In his spare time, Matthew volunteers his time with local organizations and enjoys all things outdoors, whether fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing, or camping.
