DANE C. KINGDON

Dane was born in Brandon and raised in Elkhorn Manitoba. He moved to Brandon in 2014 to complete his Bachelor of Arts at Brandon University, with a major in History and a Minor in Literature. During his time there, Dane was a member of the Brandon University History Club, as well as an active member of the community refereeing and playing volleyball. In 2019, Dane was accepted into law school at the University of Manitoba where he went on to graduate with his Juris Doctor degree in 2022.
While attending law school Dane volunteered as a member of the Academic Committee. Through this Committee Dane was able to help students prepare for the academic rigours of law school by helping lead seminars regarding exam prep and answering any academic questions from the student body. Keeping active, Dane competed in the Robson Hall Curling League where his team went on to win the championship in 2020.
Dane began working at Patersons LLP in the spring of 2021 as a summer student. During this time Dane was able to work and observe many different areas of the law getting a holistic view of the legal practice at Patersons.
During his final year of law school, Dane continued to work part-time at Patersons, transitioning to a full time Articling position with the firm following graduation. While articling Dane gained experience working in many different areas of law such as Real Estate, Wills, Corporate, and Family law.
After completing his Articles in May 2023 at Patersons LLP Dane became an associate at the firm. Dane practices law in the City of Brandon, however travels to Virden weekly to service Western Manitoba.
In his downtime, Dane enjoys being active through sports as well as volunteer work. During the summer you can find him on the golf course, playing baseball, or fishing and in the winters, you can find him playing indoor volleyball or curling. He is an active member of the Elkhorn Elks and has been a committee member of the Brandon and Area Brain Injury Walk.

3. If you had to pick one, would you rather know how you die, or when you die?
Definitely when I would die, then I would be able to plan my life around it. But who am I kidding as a type-A person I need to know both.
