About Us

Patersons has been a presence in Brandon and the Westman area for more than 45 years, with Doug Paterson purchasing the former bus depot at 1040 Princess Ave in 1985 and renovating it into a law office.

In 2005 Doug Paterson, Jodi Wyman, Scott Abel, and Robert Patterson joined together to reinvent the firm to become Paterson Patterson Wyman & Abel. Soon after Paterson Patterson Wyman & Abel went on to open offices in Virden, Neepawa and Clear Lake.

Once Scott Abel had received his appointment as a Judge and Robert Patterson was appointed as Associate Judge both in the Brandon Court of Queen’s Bench, the firm underwent another change and became Patersons LLP. Kelli Potter became a partner along with Jodi Wyman.

On July 1, 2021, Patersons LLP joined forces with Charlie Taylor and Sarah Fast at Taylor Law Office. The firm became Taylor Law Patersons. Charlie Taylor retired, leaving Patersons LLP to honour Charlie’s legacy in Neepawa and the surrounding area.
In October 2024 Kelli Potter received her appointment as a Judge of the Cout of King’s Bench, changing the firm from Patersons LLP to Patersons.

With a strong foundation of associate lawyers and legal assistants, Patersons continues to provide a full array of legal services in a skilled, accessible and welcoming way.
